Re: Off season chores

Hi John! I have the same exact rod too! (or I should say Casey does). My 2 cents for someone looking to purchase one: Buy it from Dick's. They have a GREAT extended warranty plan, worth the extra money. I believe they will replace the rod if broken once a year, for 2 years! The tip broke off last fa...

Re: Education

Great post John, I agree with everything you said. My thoughts on getting the younger new crowd exposed to Buck's teachings. I feel it will be just like the previous 2 generations, MAYBE 1 guy out of 100 will stick with it for more than a year. Actually, I think with the new millennial's, it will be...

fishing in 2018!

I'm looking forward to 2018 fishing! I always enjoy and look forward to fishing new lakes, especially reservoirs. I fished old Hickory for the first time last year, it is one of my favorite places to fish now. It's a classic delta reservoir with a great population of bass, big saugers and pure strip...

Re: Rathbun Lake

The saddles you indicated (#2,3,4) are not really saddle or structure situations. #2,3,4 is the bottom of the main channel, in the sanctuary. Your saddle #1 I would not call it a saddle, although it might look like one, I would not call it a saddle, it is just part of the bar. The structure situatio...

Re: How to strain the shallows...

Hi Kraig... I troll the shallows pretty much like the book tells us too. (contour troll). Buck says to fish the shallows from the surface down to 8-10 feet (meaning you can run free in the shallows) I don't run free that much. I think the question often asked is how long to spend in the shallows. As...

Re: Buck's Articles in Fishing Facts 77-78

Post away! I'd like to see it too! Several years ago I was given an electronic copy of every article Buck wrote in Fishing Facts. It will take some time to locate them, but they are on one of my many hard drives. I made the mistake of asking someone back then about posting them. But please post it. ...
