On My Way to Pittsburg
Last week I was told I was going to Pittsburg to pick up a vehicle my boss bought out there. Turns out he needs a Jeep that only they have... So I'm sitting in my airline seat at 34000 (inflight wifi) and I took this photo. Pretty cool. See if any of you can identify it. It VERY easy to tell some v...

River Monsters
I find the TV Show "River Monsters" rather pointless most of the time. Most of the time it's just throw a chunk of meat in the water until some over sized catfish type fish bites. On a completely seemingly different subject, I've committed to going to Canada this October with Jerry and Chr...

Re: Trolling reels
Jim, Spoil yourself with a line counter. Ive been using convectors for a couple years and last year I switched - and my old brain doesnt remember but when I get home Ill pull one out and let you know. At the seminar I heard a wonderful saying. It was "Don't get Paralyzed by over analyzing"...

Re: Hello from Maryland
Welcome, Jim puts a lot of work into the show and this year they are even better than last year. I look forward to the future. You certainly have some limitations but within those limitations you have opportunities. Weather and water situations, learning seasonal and daily migration habits of musky,...

Re: Open Water Season - Can't Wait
John, It is a shame that no one knows what Spoonplugging is but at the same time i believe in the right time, with the right people - the opportunity to expand Spoonplugging is incredible. I know people are hungry. While technology has improved tremendously, $500,000 in electronics won't improve cat...

Re: Buck Perry
Phil, My understanding is that they will wind around. While there will be consistency, don't be surprised with wild changes in direction, areas where the muckline just disappears. Because the water is shallow, the consistency of bottom fairly soft hurricanes and strong storms will affect the bottom....

Not My Fault this Time...
It seems as though that whenever I decide to take the boat on some extended exhibition that it usually mean some cataclysmic weather event occurs. The last time was November. Buffalo area got 9 feet of snow and the cold and nasty weather stormed well into Florida. I then put my trip off until Decemb...

Re: Buck Perry
Steve,
I've been in that situation where the softer debris layer is over another soft layer but a muck line is where two softish bottoms are next to each other. Literally the borderline of the two bottom types. Kenny and others spent a lot if time explaining to me.

Re: Buck Perry
Wow, What a great thread. Wish I had seen it earlier. First, the HDS units will have absolutely NO problem finding muck lines. Because the power output is so much less, I am not sure about the Elite models showing them with the normal view but there are ways to configure the display to show muck lin...
