Nice job Jim. Loved the tread mill explanation too. The guys should know that the water temps on the cooling lakes can be in excess of 90+ degrees and this explains the reason the faster speeds need to be checked. The Florida lakes in the heat of the summer also takes faster speeds in order to get the fish to take. Like Jim said, it's speed control and everyone should be aware of that every day on the water. Pretty Cool. Seeing the boat movement against a close background from another boat would really show off the speed.
Imagining the movement for me is aided by relating the MPH to feet-per-second.
4 MPH is almost 6 FPS. Round off to 6 FPS...then 6 MPH is 9 FPS. Actually it's 8.8, close enough...
Visualizing a bait covering nearly 9 feet in one second gives a good idea of what is going on down there.
And we know that fish can swim faster than that, especially in a burst.
