Re: Mapping with a garmin chip
Thanks Steve, I glad you like the videos. Definitely we need to meet up, I'm fine driving to AZ as well. Navajo is an awesome fishery, I think the best in NM. No spoonpluggers live around here and trying to teach my buddies is great but they keep moving away... I love my old Lund boat, I tight...

Re: Mapping with a garmin chip
Thanks Dave! John, Here are some fish caught in the area that I mapped. This is my favorite Flatlander for a reason, no boat traffic, excellent water color and lots of fish, multi species! Without this map, I could have not found the hot spots. Navionics does not have a map for this lake so these ar...

Re: Mapping with a garmin chip
Hey John, I run a saltwater transducer on the Garmin that allows me to map using Medium Chirp which is a different frequency than what my Vexilar flasher runs on. This way I get the best of both worlds, a simple map and real time depth from the flasher. Here is one of the maps of my favorite flatlan...

Catching Pike in New Mexico!
A few weeks ago, friend and I entered a Pike round up at Eagles Nest Lake, New Mexico. Using our Spoonplugging knowledge, we were able to quickly locate the Pike and make them strike. Pike is an invasive species in this trout lake, as they were introduced by an angler around 2010. Well,we did our pa...

How I discovered SpoonPlugging
How I got started Spoonplugging. A few years ago, I was at an local Outdoor Show. I visited a booth selling with vintage fishing books and magazines, and one caught my eye, it was called the Fishermans Bible by Tom McNally's, the best thing about it was that it was only $5. Later that day back at th...

I just wanted to let everyone know that my beautiful city is in mourning for what has happened here yesterday. Please pray for the families who lost their loved ones.

Re: Trolling speed
I have a 16ft Lund Boat that had a Motor Guide R5 transom mount 24v 70lb thrust trolling motor that is powered by 2, 31series AGM batteries and can hold 3.5- 4 mph all day. I found that at those speeds the 500's and 400's run fine and catch many bass and catfish. I just installed an I-pilot bow moun...

Fishing with my Son
Last Saturday, I was able to spend some quality time with my son out on the lake. I am hoping to get him "Hooked" on fishing and keep him off the video games. We had a blast! Watching him catch fish on his own and the smile he had on his face to me is priceless.https://youtu.be/jRVeQQC9xh8
