Re: a question

Remember all fishing questions must be answered in terms of depth and speed control. This is all this is about. I really believe that many of us do not really understand just how important this really is. The next thing and what I was really wanting you all to get here, is to simply ask questions wh...

Re: fly fishing,,,a break from the norm.

Good story, If you have an "open" mind, you will not be a "purist" at anything in life. I know for a fact that Buck loved to take smallmouth on a fly rod and popping bug. This is according to Tom Coleman. I grew up on a smallmouth stream in Indiana and one of my most favorite way...

Re: a question

Sorry to mess up your post! But thank you for the kind words. I was always told I was a good student. In many ways, I must disagree with that...... I had and have, very, very good teachers! Although, you may not know it, you are one of them. A few others that have to get the credit is Jerry Borst, J...

Re: a question

Buck always said that all fishing questions can be answered in terms of depth and speed control. Not hard to figure out using Bucks idea. The flutter spoon was moving at the correct depth and due to its action(different speed control), was also moving at the proper speed for the conditions that day....

Depth and speed control. Your depth was probably correct, but I would imagine your speed control was "off".

Re: Fall fishing conditions

Good advice..... I too was like you for many years when i started out. I was so successful with the fist 3 sizes, I just stay there with them. But, you need to start using the rest of them. This is when you really start to gain knowledge, and get better.By now you should know where your possible str...

Re: Our government wants us to stop fishing

"Have fun w/your heads in the sand." First, I dont believe your post should have been removed. Nevertheless, your above statement is totally uncalled for. Until you, yourself can take the time to actually watch the network you are slamming, for at least a period of 6 weeks, you cant make a...

Re: Controls and Tools

Your other Speed control is simply not fast enough. On the troll, it is. The second thing is that on the cast, the lure(Spoonplug, jump baits) are below the muck, causing your Depth control to be off. It can be just as big a sin to be fishing below the fish. In this case, into the muck. But, you sta...

"I have grown to hate the "Weather Channel" lately. Which is hard to say because I watch it so much. I swear if they don't pull Al Roker off there I will join a terrorist organization."

Come on Marty!

Why did you remove your post?

I am sure we can have a civil discussion here, without getting upset and deleting.

Re: Our government wants us to stop fishing

Marty, I must respectfully disagree with you. I like Fox News, BECAUSE I get both sides of a story. I do not get that from CNN, PMSNBC, ABC, or CBS. They are not the News agencies of my Dad anymore. I only get ONE side of the story from them. I went to Fox news several years ago, and have not looked...

138 views and only 6 replies. Like John said...... if we were talking about a casting rod or a fishing boat, there would be dozens of replies! This can be a really great topic for all of us to learn from each other. " you really begin to learn when you start teaching" I wonder who said tha...
