Re: Tuffy Esox Magnum for sale

Hi Jim,

Ordered a backtroller boat. It's out of the mold and should be ready for water in about 2 weeks.

Re: Spoonplugger: One Year Anniversary

Welcome Kevin! When I began studying the Green Book and asking questions I had more than a few Spoonpluggers tell me to stick with it and the fishing will get better and better. They were right. Now it takes focus and effort - nothing in life comes easy - but if you put the proper time the fishing w...

Re: Lake of the week

Bill, Excellent choice. My process would be to obtain any additional maps, internet information, etc. to prepare. When I arrive at the lake I will do a quick mapping of the lake without lures to account for everything the map doesn't show and identify breaklines. This is probably all a given but wor...

Re: PAST seminar questions

Joe, Based on the details you gave and looking for efficiency I would map the structure without lures to start. I would look for breaks and breaklines in the road and for structure situations that intersects the road. I would then fish all areas of interest under a few different conditions and possi...

Re: fishing bass with John Bales 9-22-12

Fran,
I was doing OKAY holding my own with John. But then I threw out a challenge to him about who would catch the next fish, etc. and that was a big mistake!

See you in Kentucky.

fishing bass with John Bales 9-22-12

So check this out. Went to fish with Johnny Bassman Bales today. We had severe cold front conditions and he chose an ultra clear deep lake to fish. And it's fall, 67 degree water temp pre-turnover water condition. What else, oh yeah, he had only fished this lake one time before today. Hmmm. Let's so...

Gotta love the clicker 8-5-12

Spent a half day on the water with my boys. Pretty sure I had more fun than they did although they outfished me 3:1 and my 3 yr old caught top two big fish of the day.

Warning: low budget chest cam at work

Re: HC Bill

I think you just called Jim Taylor an idiot. Just kidding.

Steve, I hope you get back on the water soon, i.e. hope your Mom gets well soon. I'm waiting to hear about the 10 pounder - just a matter of time.

fathers day morning on the water

Got back out on the new lake I fished a week ago, this time on Fathers Day morning with the kids. Lots of storms the previous day and all night but figured we could still bump into a few northern before lunch. Caught first NP 20 minutes in and then it went quiet until a short movement around 10:15 f...

Re: new lakes/humps

Bill,

Time on the water, whether by ourselves or with friends, recharges us and helps in coping with our daily struggles. You deserve it - get out there. And think about coming to the Kentucky outing.

new lakes/humps

I haven't been able to get on the water much recently but Friday, June 8th, was an exception. I was more anxious than normal because I was fishing a new lake I knew nothing about (except what I could find on the internet). A new lake means extra effort, but I love them because as the structures reve...

Re: Lake of the week 4-19-12

I'll bite. In the early spring I'm going to start mapping in the upper right hand portion of the lake. I'm looking for points relative to the deep water, like "the horns," the island north of the horns, the the south bay to the right and south of the horns. It looks like there are multiple...
