Re: Chemical weed control
Wow! Excellent post. I totally agree about the influence of the major chemical companies. I was stationed at Ft McClellan, Alabama at the start of my Army career. McClellan was located near a Monsanto chemical plant (Anniston, AL) back in the day. Monsanto had caused poisoning of ground water there,...

Re: Found a Structure Fishing Guide ?
I looked the guide over and it looks pretty good. Some of the definitions are off,(refer to Green Book). I would say that the guide is for the warmer periods like summer. The steep areas classified as poor might be used during the coldest period. I did not study each situation, but did find the brea...

Re: Trolling reels
Jim, After watching that video I went on eBay and bid on some 109s. I'm not taking any chances. Actually, it appears Mr Perry is pretty understanding. If Borst can get away with that Fancy Schmancy electric reel I think we are safe with simple line counters. I use Diawa Sealine and an Okuma Cold wat...

Jerry,

Re: Open Water Season - Can't Wait
John, I knew that many of the things Seth spoke of were contradictory to our ways, hence the statement that he was not a Spoonplugger. That said, once you weed out the obvious, he does have some valid information on location (depth and seasonal movement) and presentation of lures (speed). In some of...

Open Water Season - Can't Wait
Hey Guys, Like most of you, I have been enduring winter by finding anything that can keep me busy. Ice fishing is okay, but I can't wait till the water is soft again. I have been getting gear ready and searching the internet for information, just to keep myself occupied (I'm semi-retired so work is ...

Really good stuff. Though I don't plan to fish these Florida lakes, the info is still great. Certainly the info is valid in the Midwest for soft to hard transitions.
Thanks John and Steve.

Nice article. Stick with it and follow the guidelines. The Green Book is the key.
